Adding the Date to the Menu Bar

February 23, 2009 · 5 comments

In OS X you can see the date by clicking on the time in the menu bar. But I find myself doing this so much I would like to just have the date next to the time of day. I found a little app called MagiCal. MagiCal is a free menu application that give you a plethora of option pertaining to date and time in the menu bar Like showing the date with the time, font sizes, calendar and much more. I soon fell madly in love with it and I have turned off Apples Time menu items and replaced it with MagiCal’s:

Check out this quick video of MagiCal’s features:

Hey Marko, I wrote a post over at MacMinimalist.com called “Pure Black” you can find a link there to Menu Eclipse that allows you to adjust the darkness of the menu bar and take it black. Do note that all things on the menu bar also go black including text. I have tried other ways to make the menubar black but in the end all the apps and menubar icons were un-readable. Here is the link to the post on MM: http://macminimalist.com/the-black-desktop/
