Open Terminal and type in

defaults write com.apple.finder QLEnableXRayFolders 1

Then enter

Killall Finder

to restart the Finder. You should now be able to quicklook any folder that has files and see it in the folder preview.

UPDATE: If you ever want to disable it this feature, quit the Finder, then repeat the above Terminal command, but change the 1 to a 0.

As it turns out there is a secret stack view in Snow Leopard that modifies the list view option for stacks. Below is a video showing the before and after. It also shows the transitions in slow motion.

To apply this view enter the following into Terminal:

defaults write com.apple.dock use-new-list-stack -bool YES

Than:

killall Dock

This will change the view and restart the dock.

Here is a Quick Terminal command to add highlights to stack items in SL:

defaults write com.apple.dock mouse-over-hilite-stack -boolean YES
killall Dock

This will add the highlights and then restart the dock.

Disabling Spotlight in Snow Leopard is quite easy. Simply enter the following into Terminal, hit enter. You may need to enter your Admin password.

sudo mdutil -a -i off

To turn it back on just enter the following:

sudo mdutil -a -i on

Here is a quick way to add a screen saver to your desktop. Go out and download Wallsaver (it free) and install it. Adding a screensaver to the desktop can be fun and entertaining, but in some cases in can be very helpful. For example if I use a clock wallpaper I can remove the time from the menu bar… Hmm…
